SunRail (Website) has announced the pending opening of its new DeLand Station and the start of passenger service on Monday, August 12. The DeLand station is now the northernmost stop on the 61-mile commuter rail system and is located at 2491 Old New York Avenue [GMap].

Upon arrival at the new DeLand station, passengers will have a few options to reach their final destination, including the VoRide rideshare service operated by Votran. Bicycles are welcome on SunRail trains, and bicyclists will be able to easily travel to downtown DeLand or connect to trails near the station.

SunRail operates Monday through Friday, connecting communities throughout Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Volusia counties in Central Florida with 17 stops on the route.

Fares start at $2, with discounts available for seniors, youth, and individuals with disabilities. All trains and stations are fully accessible. It’s free to park at the stations, and the trains have onboard restrooms, work-station seating, and free WiFi.

Passengers can purchase tickets via the SunRail Mobile app, available in the App Store and Google Play, or at ticket vending machines located on station platforms.
