The meteoric rise in home prices over the last four years
began during COVID-19 but has continued to trend upward even
as interest rates and the inventory of available homes have increased. Though average local wages have improved, they’ve failed to keep pace with the local market, resulting in a widening gap between the cost of a home and the number of residents capable of affording the price.
