Mark your calendars, Red Bull is bringing some of the world’s top wakeboarders to Ivanhoe Village’s Lake Ivanhoe on Saturday, September 7 as part of its Red Bull Double or Nothing event series.
The event gets its name from the “double-up”, which is the moment when two wakes combine into one, growing more than three times the size of a usual wake. This allows the pros to get even more air, allowing for larger tricks, and risking huge crashes.
The event was created by wakeboarding pro, Parks Bonifay, and features some of the top talent in the world trying to attempt never-done-before tricks, trying to win the $10,000 prize package. Thomas Herman made history last year by landing the first-ever triple flip in a competition.
Riders interested in competing can submit their best trick in an attempt to be selected for a spot in the contest, along with 20 of the best wakeboarders in the world.
This year’s event will run from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at Gaston Edwards Park and will feature the following roster:
