Opera Orlando has just announced that it will be hosting a special benefit concert on Saturday, September 14 for the Holocaust Memorial Resource and Education Center of Florida.

The event will be hosted at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts and feature a performance of Verdi’s Requiem accompanied by video testimony from the survivors of the original Terezin chorus and footage from the 1944 Nazi propaganda film about Theresienstadt.

Ticket sales for Defiant Requiem will go to the center, thanks to sponsors and private donors. The event is a collaboration between the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, the Opera Orlando Chorus, and members of Orlando Sings, all conducted by The Defiant Requiem Foundation president and project creator Murry Sidlin.

Tickets start at $49 and they are available HERE for purchase.
