Heavy rainfall from a system cutting across Central Florida caused som major flooding in some of Orlando’s downtown Bungalow neighborhoods, namely SoDo, Ivanhoe Village, Delaney Park, Thornton Park, and Mills 50.
According to a post by WKMG, most parts of the region received anywhere between two to four inches, with most of downtown Orlando and some of Winter Park receiving up to five inches. An average hurricane would drop anywhere from six to twelve inches, according to Homeland Security.
A flood warning for the bulk of downtown was put in place through 7 p.m. More rain is expected on Labor Day.
