One of the first vegan restaurants to open in Central Florida, Ethos Vegan Kitchen (Website) has closed.
After 17 years of business, the Winter Park eatery decided to close its doors. Five of those years were spent in Ivanhoe Village where The Hammered Lamb is located now, before moving to their longtime home at 601 S. New York Avenue [GMap] adjacent to Rollins College in Winter Park.
In March of this year, The Hammered Lamb took a hit in business when a hastily posted health inspection report on Orlando Sentinel incorrectly listed their Ivanhoe Village restaurant as the recipient of an emergency shutdown order that was actually meant for Ethos Vegan Kitchen. More on that HERE on Orlando Sentinel.
Episode 141 of “Bungalower and The Bus” was recorded at Ethos with guest host, elected representative Anna Eskamani. Ethos was also a participant in the Bungalower Buddy Buy-Local program.
At the time of this post, the Instagram had been deleted and the website scaled back to promote a last-minute online t-shirt deal. You can still purchase an Ethos Vegan Kitchen t-shirt at Threadless.com for $12.50, through September 10. Click HERE to purchase.
A reason for closing has not been shared publicly at this time.
