Downtown nightclub stalwart, Barbarella (Facebook | Website), formerly known as Independent Bar, moved out of downtown Orlando in February 2022. The 80s New Wave hotspot had been popular since 1984 but made the decision to hit the bricks for greener pastures near The Packing District.
They wound up sharing court with a pickleball facility at 4141 N. John Young Parkway [GMap] for the past two years, but will now be moving into The Axe Trap (Website) on Lee Road in Winter Park, according to a report by Orlando Entertainment News. That’s where the old Booby Trap strip club used to be, at 2600 Lee Road [GMap].
Manuel Perez, co-owner of The Axe Trap, shared with Bungalower that the takeover will be isolated to Saturday nights only, after the axe-throwing services close for the night. Oh, and they have a full liquor bar.
