The husband and wife team, Brittany Walsh Lyne and Patrick Lyne, has announced the closure of their Winter Park restaurant, Farm and Haus (Instagram | Website).
Farm and Haus first opened in East End Market back in 2016, before expanding and opening a larger brick-and-mortar all its own in Winter Park in May 2022. The couple then closed their original location, a food stall in East End Market, on January 31, 2024.
Fast forward to last week, when the couple shared their decision to shutter their Park Avenue eatery, located at 526 S. Park Avenue [GMap].
You can read their full statement on the closure below.
“10 years ago this month, we launched a dinner delivery service that focused on simple, healthy and quality ingredients, with the goal of making “homemade” food easy and accessible for busy people and families in the Orlando area.
What we did not expect is how this humble idea of ours would take off, and be so well loved and received throughout the community. From a modest dinner delivery concept moving into the @eastendmarket incubator kitchen, to being offered a counter spot inside of the East End Market hall, to then opening up a full-service restaurant on Park Avenue.
It’s been a beautiful journey full of the highest highs, and also the lowest lows. Throughout these 10 years, we started and grew our family, welcoming 3 little ones. We met and formed community with so many of you, both inside the industry and out- many of whom we now call our dearest friends. We were recognized and awarded. We got to experience things like meeting celebrity chefs, actors, musicians and athletes- all in the name of a shared love of wholesome, healthy food.
In that same time, we also saw devastating loss and heartache, both personally and as a community. We stood together through tragedies that rocked us like Pulse, we watched as the world shut down, and fear and uncertainty moved in as the pandemic descended upon us, and we were there and ready when we had the green light to open back up. Throughout it all, we have adapted, we have shifted gears, and we have sacrificed, all to keep going and moving forward.
However, as time and experience does, we have grown and our priorities have changed. It is no longer just about us, but is now about our family, which every decision is made for.
With that said, the past year and a half has been the most challenging time that we have faced both personally and professionally- and we’re not alone. Make no mistake, it is a tough time for small business owners everywhere.
It is for this reason, and so many others, that we have made the decision to close our doors.
While we have loved the process of creating and executing our vision for Farm & Haus over these past 10 years, we strongly feel that it’s time for us to move on to the next chapter of our lives.
THANK YOU to each of you for your love and support throughout the years. THANK YOU to our staff from day one to the end- for your trust, your support, and for being on this wild ride right alongside us. We’ll always cherish our memories together.
One final thought to carry forward—always choose kindness. We’re all walking this journey together, and the way we lift each other up makes all the difference. Support local, like the incredible @everoakfarm, and strive to be the kind of person who listens, understands, and offers grace. It costs nothing but can change everything.
All our love,
-Patrick & Brittany”
