Just two days after Halloween, a local podcast will be hosting a special wizard-inspired night of rock music at the Conduit in Winter Park.
It’s being called a “Wrock Concert,” inspired by a genre of novelty music that draws from characters and stories in famous wizarding worlds, stories, and characters (though most of the ones I’m about to mention are definitely from the Rowling-verse). It’s being presented by Bess Carnan of the WZRD Radio Podcast (Website), who says the event is way more than just a concert.
“This will be more than a concert, it will be an immersive experience where fans can connect over the shared magic of our favorite stories and the music inspired by it.”
– BESS CARNAN, WZRD RADIO PODCAST
One of the genre’s more popular acts, The Blibbering Humdingers, is set to cast a spell with hits like “No Shame in Hufflepuff” and “Dark Lord Sleeping On My Sofa.” The lineup also includes groups like Dream Quaffle, How Airplanes Fly, and Hawthorn & Holly. and the night will be hosted by Brian Ross of Draco and the Malfoys, one of the founding bands of the wrock genre.
Everyone is encouraged to wear their wizarding best.
Tickets are $20 and available for purchase HERE.
