We told you HERE in December 2021 that the City of Orlando and Orange County had begun conversations on possibly collaborating on a joint City-County Cultural Arts Plan that could help provide guidance for future arts efforts in the region.
Two years later, the initiative, called CANVAS: A Cultural Plan for the City of Orlando and Orange County, is now in its research and community engagement phase. Residents can now take part in an online survey to weigh in on the state and future of arts, culture, and creativity across the county.
Click HERE to participate in the survey. Questions include “How long have you lived in Orange County,” “How often do you attend arts and cultural events,” and something like “Do you think the county needs more money for art spending and would that make everything super cool?”
For more information on CANVAS, click HERE and be sure to peep at their vision board, which includes a hopeful wishlist of items like “more great public art,” “interactive screens in high-traffic areas with information about our local arts and culture offerings,” “free bus or shuttle from I-Drive area to different downtown neighborhoods,” and more.
