The Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens (Website) is seeking someone to take the reigns as its new Chief Operating Officer.

The role demands a “transformative, mission-driven, strategic, engaged, and experienced leader,” who will report to the Chief Executive Officer. They are responsible for managing the facilities, horticulture, attractions, public area/housekeeping, guest services, public safety, and animal operations at both the existing zoo campus in Sanford and the Orianne Center for Indigo Conservation in Eustis, FL.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field with five or more years of proven experience in a Director of Operations role or higher, or in a comparable role. They should have experience in general management of a zoo, aquarium, or theme park and knowledge of AZA best practices and accreditation standards.
