This is one of those movies you can’t simply “unsee.”

Caligula shares the story of actual former Roman emperor Gaius Caligula (played by Malcolm McDowell), the film follows as he kills his awful grandfather (Peter O’Toole) to seize control of Rome, alongside his wife Caesonia (Helen Mirren). But power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely, and shit devolves quickly with a never-ending series of orgies, feasts, battles, and madness.

This specific edition is an extensive reconstruction of the original 1979 film, with restored performances by McDowell and Mirren featuring never-before-seen footage. This film is unrated, but nobody under the age of 18 will be allowed entry. Because it’s gross and will break your brain.

The uncut version is banned in several countries due to is violent and sexual content.
