The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority Board recently approved a series of large projects at the Orlando International Airport that will better activate passenger areas in Terminals A and B and the airport’s always-full parking garages.
The GOAA Board unanimously approved a $13 million project to install parking guidance system technology throughout MCO’s parking garages, similar to those found at Advent Health, using a marquis sign to share where there are available parking spaces on each level of the garages. Digital signage will also be added on roadways and garage entry points that show real-time information about the number of open parking spots before people arrive at the property.
In addition to the parking fixes, Orlando International Airport will also be adding more than 40 new restaurants and retail stores to its collection, including a number of local success stories like Stasio’s Italian Deli, Smoke and Donuts, Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream, SoDough Detroit Pizza, Milkhouse, Jam-Eng, Otto’s High Dive, Maxine’s on Shine, and 4 Rivers Smokehouse.
Design work will begin in the near future, with renovations beginning by mid-2025.
