The City of Orlando has reopened limited parking under the interstate in downtown Orlando.

We told you HERE when Orlando City Council awarded a contract to Mercon Construction Company for $640,852 to build temporary parking spaces under the interstate, ahead of the long-awaited, much-discussed Canopy Park project.

The first lot, located on Pine Street between Garland Avenue and Hughey Avenue, includes 53 spaces and is open for 3-hour increments between 11 a.m.-4 a.m. The second temporary lot, located on Central Boulevard between Garland Avenue and Hughey Avenue, will offer spaces designated for pick-up and drop-off starting on Friday, December 20 in time for the StaffDNA Cure Bowl event.

Visitors can pay for parking using the ParkMobile app.

This is a pilot initiative that will be revisited in one year.
