“Palm Beach Meats is now open in the old Hungry Pants space.”
“South Florida’s Wagyu beef-slinging restaurant/retail darlings Palm Beach Meats is now open in the former home of Hungry Pants at 3421 S. Orange Avenue. The shop is a hybrid retailer/wholesaler/restaurant with dine-in and to-go options to complement its main gig as a marketing and distribution hub for all things Kobe beef.

“Vietnamese Dessert Shop, Saigon Snow, to join Mills Market.”
“Saigon Snow is a new Vietnamese dessert shop focused on fresh, fruit-forward creations and its logo features an Asian elephant. The shop specializes in shaved ice bowls and smoothies with an Asian flair with toppings like sticky rice, pandan mungbean jelly, and coco-nata. Guests can customize their bowls with fresh seasonal fruits and a choice of tropical snow flavors like mango, ube, coconut, and Vietnamese coffee. Guests will also be able to order fresh fruit smoothies including avocado and mango colada.”

“Acropolis Greek Taverna now open in former DoveCote space.”
“Tampa-based Greek restaurant franchise Acropolis Greek Taverna is now in a soft-open phase in the former DoveCote space on the ground floor of the Bank of America building in downtown Orlando.”

“Dog park bar now open in Ivanhoe.”
“BarkHaven Dog Park Bar is now open in Ivanhoe Village at 724 Brookhaven Drive. The indoor/outdoor dog-friendly venue features a coffee bar, grooming services, an off-leash dog park play area, and an indoor bar/restaurant space. The kitchen is being run by the folks at Papi Smash and boasts a Mediterranean-inspired menu of burgers, salads, bar food, and pizzas. Check out our preview of the menu below.“

“Hideaway Bar swapping buildings this weekend.”
“The Hideaway Bar is finally making that big move across the street. We first told you about the move back in June 2021. Hideaway was the last holdout on a major development by Chance Gordy, the man behind The Yard. The next phase of that project is The Yard at Brookhaven, which is located directly across Virginia Drive and was expected to encircle The Hideaway Bar, as the owner, Chip, had chosen not to sell the property. But that changed when he was offered a new home across the street if he would sell. Which he chose to do.”

“Foxtail Coffee now open in Leu Gardens.”
“We told you in June 2023 that Foxtail Coffee had signed an agreement with the City of Orlando to take over the Leu Gardens gift shop and add one of its coffee shops to boot. As of September 10, that shop is now open.”

“New Italian-ish restaurant set to open in Audubon Park.”
“According to a social media post, Coro will be soft-opening on Friday, June 14. The project is led by Chef Timothy Lovero, who was most recently at Luke’s Kitchen in Maitland, before striking off to do his own thing. The menu will feature New American-ish-inspired small plates like dumplings and pierogies as well as some Asian influence. They’ll also be serving house-made juices and kombucha.”

“Ivanhoe Park Brewing names new concept moving into Deadwords Brewing.”
“We told you only a couple of weeks ago that Ivanhoe Park Brewing Co. had purchased the assets of the recently shuttered Deadwords Brewing Company. At the time we didn’t know much about their plans for the space but we now have a name and a concept to share. The new Ivanhoe Park Lager House is expected to open in just a couple of weeks with a soft opening date announcement pending any day now, but it’s likely to be June 12, the same day as the U.S. Men’s National Team soccer match against Brazil at Camping World Stadium.”

“Southern Box Company Food Hall to soft open this weekend.“
“The Packing District has just announced a soft opening date for its long-awaited food hall project, in the historic Great Southern Box Company building near the corner of Princeton Street and Orange Blossom Trail. The 13,000 SF building was originally a warehouse space used by the Dr. Phillips citrus company and has been completely redone by local architecture firm, dap design. It has over ten food vendors, two outdoor patios, a 5,000+ SF event space, and a microbrewery still in the works. Each vendor’s point of sale is clearly marked by a lit archway at each stall to help you know where to go and place your order.”

“Bricks and Bowls schedules grand opening for May 22.”
“Bricks and Bowls will offer “nutritious meals crafted with care” later this week, with a scheduled grand opening on Wednesday, May 22 at 11 a.m. Bricks and Bowls Park Avenue’s menu is built around “superfoods” that are as reportedly healthy as they are yummy, like arugula, beets, kale, spinach, turmeric, sweet potatoes, and almonds with scratch-made grain bowls and sandwiches made with fresh focaccia bread.“

“Cups and Pups bringing expanded concept to defunct Dizzy Donuts.”
“The dog-friendly folks at Cups and Pups took over the former Gratitude Coffee space at 1307 Edgewater Drive back in March 2021, and it seems they liked it so much they’ve decided to open a second location on the same street.”

“The Strand opens new bar concept next door in old British Shoppe.”
“The Strand in Mills 50 has expanded its footprint into the former home of The British Shoppe next door and opened a new sister space called d.b.a. The new concept by The Strand’s Ada and Joe Rees, which stands for “Doing Business As,” currently offers small plates like Old Bay chips, duck flatbread, cacio e pepe deviled eggs, marinated clams, and scallop crudo alongside a creative menu of cocktails like the Ms. Kim made with chrysanthemum-infused vodka, rye gin, lemon, and honey, and the Pool Boy, made with gin, lime, simple syrup, cucumber, and absinthe.”

“The Drake Kitchen and Bar is now open in downtown Orlando’s new Radius Apartment building. The new concept by popular food truck operators Herberto and Rona Segura of Duck and Drake – pictured above – went into a soft-open phase earlier in the month but is officially open to the public effective today, Thursday, February 22.”

“Shaved ice shack opens behind Kaya in Lake Eola Heights.“
“A Japanese shaved-ice dessert concept has opened in a tiny shack behind Kaya Inspired Filipino Cuisine in Lake Eola Heights, at 620 N. Thornton Avenue. Koko Kakigori specializes in kakigori which is shaved ice topped with ice cream, yogurt, and fruit syrups like tangerine, matcha, and vegan ube coconut. The menu is even served in custom, hand-made ceramic bowls created by the owners, complimenting the artistic presentations of the desserts themselves.”
