Broken Strings Brewery (Instagram | Website) has called it quits.
The Parramore-based brewery opened at 1012 W. Church Street [GMap] back in 2016 and became a popular watering hole with Orlando City Soccer fans due to its proximity to the stadium – and great beer – led by owner Charles Frizzell.
They launched a GoFundMe in April 2024 with a goal of $30,000 to help keep their taps pouring but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to keep them from eventually shuttering their doors.
According to a post on Broken Strings’ social media, the brewery is closed, “effective immediately,” though they will be hosting a farewell party on Saturday, January 18 with free beer on tap while supplies last. You can read the full statement from the Broken Strings team below.
“With a heavy heart and broken spirit, we must announce that Broken Strings Brewery will be closing, effective immediately.
This dream started over 10 years ago and has given us countless memories and friendships that we will cherish forever, We can’t begin to thank everyone enough for their support, we wouldn’t have made it this far without you!
Over the years, we have come close to making this announcement many times, and somehow or another we would find a way to stay open, but we have finally run out of good luck and miracles, so it’s time to hopefully move on to bigger and better things!
Many of you donated to our GoFundMe, which allowed us to make necessary repairs and get caught up on some bills, which allowed us to stay open the rest of the year, and finish out a great season with Orlando City Soccer going deep into the playoffs, but the changes being made downtown over the past year, have basically turned Downtown Orlando into a ghost town, which has affected our business significantly and we see no way to stay open in 2025. Many other factors have affected this decision as well, such as the increase in the cost of doing business and the unfortunate decline in craft beer. All of this has put us in a position that makes overcoming these challenges greater than our financial, mental, and physical resources can allow us to.
We can’t begin to thank everyone enough but want to give everyone one last chance to have a pint in the taproom before we move out.
We will have one last party in the taproom on Sat Jan 18th, free beer until the kegs are empty!
More details and time for the event will be made available soon, we hope you can make it out!
Sincerely,
Charles, Elyssa and the Broken Strings Family”
