A new French Brasserie is soft-opening this week on the second floor of the still-vacant City Food Hall in Ivanhoe Village.
Chez Les Copains (Instagram), meaning “at your friend’s house” in French, is a new effort by award-winning chefs Michael Collantes and Danilo Tangalin focusing on Florida-grown ingredients. According to a press release issued earlier today, the restaurant was inspired by the feeling of dining at a close friend’s house, but it will be the only full-service operation in the building once the food stall eventually reopens – and there’s no timeline on that yet. When last we spoke, City Food Hall management was hoping to open before Christmas, which didn’t happen.
The menu features traditional French favorites with chef-inspired twists, from what we can see on their Instagram feed, that translates to cheese plates, stuffed fish, escargot, mussels, croquettes, and more.
Chez Les Copains is in soft opening from yesterday through Saturday from 5:30-9 p.m. and you can make reservations HERE.
