Audio recordings have recently been released by prosecutors sharing that Regina Hill’s adult son providing evidence against her, following claims that she stole money from a 96-year-old constituent.

A year before the suspended commissioner was arrested, her son was called in by detectives to look at some questionable paperwork that had been filed under his name. When a detective asked him if he recognized the signature, he said it did not and said that it was not his signature. That’s when he noticed his mother’s name at the top of the paperwork and clammed up.

That paperwork was a power of attorney that gave Hill power over an elderly woman, whom she allegedly stole thousands of dollars from, and some property.

Her pre-trial hearing was scheduled to take place last week but was rescheduled to April 29 when her attorney asked for more time to carry out depositions. Those depositions include, the notary whose signatures were allegedly forged, real estate attorney Alan Sandler, the caretaker of the elderly woman, and Hill’s son, Omari Nembhard.

Her trial is scheduled for May 12. This is the second time her trial has been delayed.
