Central Florida Public Media (Website), formerly known as WMFE, has just announced the return of its Emerging Journalists Fellowship program for 2025.
The fellowship is a new one-year residency for journalists to immerse themselves in the dynamic world of news media. Fellows get to see how all levels of news operations work an will be involved in story production from pitch to completion. They will be assigned general news stories and will engage in long-form feature reporting, focusing on significant community issues and subjects.
“This fellowship has truly taught me about the power of radio storytelling,” said Luis-Alfredo Garcia, 2024 Emerging Journalist fellow. “I learn so much each day about the community, my colleagues, audio, and who I am as a journalist. For me, there was no better place I could’ve landed right after college.”
