Entrepreneur and founder of Church Street Station Bob Snow has passed away at the age of 82, after falling at his home.
Snow founded the world-famous entertainment and dining destination Church Street Station in 1974, and was responsible for bringing millions of tourists to downtown Orlando to visit concepts like Rosie O’Grady’s Good Time Emporium and Cheyenne Saloon.
He was good friends with Colonel Joe Kittinger, who he took up hot air ballooning with. The two went on several balloon trips together, including one that saw them get blown off course before crash landing in Northern Quebec.
Snow made a rare appearance recently at the opening of the new arts courtyard at CityArts in downtown Orlando, where they had recycled a number of cast iron pieces that were salvaged from the Church Street Ballroom demolition.
