RENDERING BY GDP DESIGN BUILD

Plans are being filed with the City of Orlando to transform a former retail building in the Mills 50 District into a new cocktail bar and lounge concept.

Rews Playroom is a new craft cocktail concept moving into the former Monogram Merchant building at 1322 N. Mills Avenue [GMap] adjacent to Pig Floyd’s. According to initial paperwork filed with City Hall, the space will be a “sanctuary for those who crave extraordinary experiences. Inspired by the metropolitan style of world-class cities and driven by a passion for elevating the art of hospitality, the space is designed to engage the senses, blending sophisticated elegance with a warm, welcoming atmosphere.”

The former house turned shop will be converted to feature separate intimate seating areas and a cocktail program inspired by the owners’ Louisiana heritage and travels abroad.

Rews Playroom is being designed by GDP Design Build. It will have eight designated parking spaces, which should fill up fast. The parking capacity for that specific block was previously found to be 66 spots short, before the opening of Lamp and Shade restaurant/lounge.

This concept is still in the very early stages with the City and could change in the coming months.
