A new Thai seafood and raw bar restaurant has opened in the former home of City Pub at 861 N. Orange Avenue [GMap] in the North Quarter, just north of downtown Orlando.

Talay (Instagram | Website) (the name meaning sea or ocean in Thai) offers an elevated take on Thai cuisine with a distinct emphasis on fresh seafood and innovative twists on traditional Thai dishes. The restaurant features an array of raw bar options, such as fresh oysters served with a signature mignonette, shrimp dressed in a chili-lime dressing, and even salmon preparations that showcase Thai herbs and citrus accents. This emphasis on raw seafood highlights the coastal influences behind their cuisine.

Beyond the raw bar, the menu boasts signature seafood platters (such as grilled river prawn and steamed mussels with citrus chili relish) that combine multiple seafood elements with vibrant Thai herbs and spices.

Talay is open 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. and 4-10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. and 4-10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
