The Florida Department of Health in Orange County has detected the presence of blue-green algae in multiple lakes this week, all of which have been closed to public use.

Residents are advised to avoid coming into contact with the water at Lake Arnold, Lake Bessie, Lake Jessamine, and Lake Pineloch, until further notice. If you do come into contact with it, wash your skin and clothing with soap and water.

Keep your pets and livestock away from those lakes. Don’t eat fish from freshwater lakes experiencing blooms.
