On Monday, March 10, golfers can swing their clubs in the footsteps of legends during the annual Courthouse Cup tournament at Rio Pinar Golf’s historic course, in support of the Orange County Regional History Center.
Now in its ninth year, the four-person scramble raises vital funds for the nonprofit Historical Society of Central Florida, which supports the mission of the History Center. The site of the
first major PGA tour events in the area, Rio Pinar has been open for almost 70 years and has hosted such legends as Lee Trevino and Arnold Palmer.
On March 10, the day starts with registration and a continental breakfast at 9 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 10 a.m. The event includes lunch and an awards ceremony after play concludes.
The Courthouse Cup includes fun challenges for players, who can take their chances using an antique club and golf ball, remove strokes by answering trivia questions, or shoot a golf ball through an air cannon. Sponsorships for the tournament are available to support the museum’s work and receive recognition in a unique way.
