The Florida Department of Health in Orange County has issued a health alert after detecting a harmful level of blue-green algae in Lake Formosa, behind the Mennello Museum of Art, on March 13.
Members of the public are being advised to exercise caution in and around Lake Formosa, including the Orlando Urban Trail pedestrian bridge in Ivanhoe Village. You should not drink, swim, wade, or come into contact with waters where there is a visible algal bloom. If you do, wash your skin and clothing with soap and water – that includes pets.
We will update this post once the Lake Alert has been lifted.
