The Florida Department of Health in Orange County has issued a health alert after detecting a harmful level of blue-green algae in Lake Killarney, on March 7.

Members of the public are being advised to exercise caution in and around Lake Killarney. You should not drink, swim, wade, or come into contact with waters where there is a visible algal bloom. If you do, wash your skin and clothing with soap and water – that includes pets.

We will update this post once the Lake Alert has been lifted.
