This is our latest rundown of the top ten things you need to know this week in Orlando’s downtown “bungalow neighborhoods.” Click HERE to listen to Episode 421 of “Bungalower and The Bus” on Real Radio 104.1 FM, recorded at the City Beautiful Cafe (Website), an amazing deli located in Orlando City Hall, with some of the best sandwiches in town.
TOP TEN HEADLINES
- The City of Orlando “accidentally” condemned the home of former commissioner Regina Hill (the house she’s not legally allowed to visit), and then said it was all a big mistake. Hill shared that she believed it was an attack on her re-election campaign.
- United Arts of Central Florida just launched hiring platform for local creatives called the Arts Hub. People or organizations can use it to hire everything from muralists to drag queens, to mural-painting drag queens.
- T. G. Lee Dairy is celebrating 100 years with the launch of a new annual 5K run on May 3. And they’re giving everyone milk at the finish line. No, really.
- A wine shop is moving into a former juice bar in Thornton Park. Which seems pretty fitting, actually.
- After 15 years of business in downtown Orlando, Downtown Pourhouse is calling it quits. They’re having one last pour-out this week. And thankfully sidestepping the City’s prohibition on new nighttime venues, Allure Lounge is expected to open any day now in the historic Elijah Hand building.
- Our resident Arts and Culture Editor (sponsored by Interstruct Design + Build), Pat Greene, sat down with Leah Nash to chat about the Timucua Foundation and its hidden gem, the White House venue.
- The Orlando Predators were booted from Arena Football One.
