A new mural is being installed on the back of the historic building at 1 S. Orange Avenue [GMap] in downtown Orlando.
The piece was commissioned by Launch That (Website), a digital marketing and branding firm that owns the building, and made possible through a partnership with City District Orlando Main Street and the Downtown Development Board.
The Red Tape Studio (Website) team was hired to install the multi-story mural, which shouldn’t be a surprise after the success of their installation Achromatic Aria Fresco- An Ode to Harmony in Lake Eola Park. That mural is destined to be short-lived, however, as the building it is on is slated for eventual demolition to expand the park.
This latest piece, obviously inspired by Launch That’s outer space-themed branding, features what appears to be an astronaut in the foreground and a rocket ship in the distance.
It’s best viewed from the patio at Casey’s and Taco Kat on Court Street.
