The Orange County History Center (Website) will launch a new exhibition on April 12 in honor of Orlando’s 150th anniversary, showcasing some of the most fascinating and rarely seen items in the museum’s collection.
Orlando Collected tells the story of 150 objects, curated by local historians, notables, and annoying hyper-local newsbloggers. That’s right, I got to pick one of the items on the collection, and it’s a special one to me, something I helped to facilitate being donated to the museum for something just like this.
Museum members can get an invitation to a free preview on Friday, April 11, before it opens to the public the next day. A special Lunch-and-Learn is being held on Friday, April 4, at noon, led by Curator of Exhibitions, Katie Kelley, with a behind-the-scenes look at the exhibition.
