Lift Orlando (Website) has announced the opening of the new West Lakes Financial Wellbeing Center (Website) at the Heart of West Lakes Wellness Center at 710 S. Tampa Avenue [GMap].
The 1,900 SF space is designated to increase financial literacy within the West Lakes community. The West Lakes Financial Wellbeing Center, which began one-on-one neighborhood programming in 2018, has been a critical resource for the community, providing Prosperity Planning through a long-term partnership with Goodwill Industries of Central Florida. While the median household income in West Lakes has increased by $10,000 since 2023 ($29,780), it starkly contrasts with Orange County’s $69,236,
Once open, the center will offer a variety of programs, including one-on-one financial mentorship sessions through Goodwill Industries, support from the Lift Orlando Small Business Institute, and training initiatives to support residents with workforce development and job placement.
A grand opening ceremony is scheduled for 3-5 p.m. on May 6.
