Orlando achieved a significant milestone in 2024 by welcoming 75.3 million visitors, setting a new tourism record, according to figures released by Visit Orlando.
That’s an increase of 1.8% over 2023. This surge in tourism is largely attributed to substantial investments and expansions by the major park entities, Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort, and SeaWorld Orlando.
Visit Orlando’s announcement was made during a celebratory event featuring the Blue Man Group, highlighting the city’s tourism performance. Tourism in Central Florida supports approximately 30% of local jobs and contributes to about half of Orange County’s sales tax revenue.
Canada remained the top international market to Orlando with 1.29 million visitors, representing a 2.7% increase over 2023 and setting a new record for the second consecutive year. Though we have yet to see what the effect of the current Canadian boycott of American goods and travel will have on the local economy in the coming months.
