Swanson’s Ivanhoe Row, a line of retail strip facing Gaston Edwards Park in Ivanhoe Village, is home to a number of small, independent businesses, and they’re all about to play a game of musical chairs and swap storefronts, made possible by the recent closing of Eyre Home in March of this year.
Women’s clothing shop, Jarboe (Website), will be leaving its longtime home at 1225 N. Orange Avenue [GMap] and moving into the former Eyre Home space at 1219 N. Orange Avenue [GMap] just next door.
Maffrey’s Goods (Instagram) will be moving into the former home of Jarboe and expanding their wares, while a new pet-focused concept called House of Sploot (Website) will be moving into their space, which overlooks the vacant patio of the recently closed The Hammered Lamb. We heard some rumors about a new concept being sized up for The Hammered Lamb, but couldn’t confirm it in time for the posting of this article.
The sibling/veteran-owned Inside Out IV (Website) has just opened on the second floor space at 1231 B N. Orange Avenue [GMap]. They specialize in IV services for overall wellness, immune support, hydration, and more, which is likely to be a hit with the Ivanbroes at The Yard.
Aguila Coffee (Instagram) is opening soon at 1215 N. Orange Avenue [GMap] next to Oxford Eyes. According to our friend Allex Englett, Executive Director of Ivanhoe Village Main Street, the new shop is expected to be serving coffee any time now, so follow their socials for updates.
An exact timeline for the swaps to take place isn’t exactly set in stone, though we hear most of the dust will have settled by late June.
The last time Swansons Ivanhoe Row had a Retail Shuffle like this was in August 2016 when Paper Goat Post expanded into Cloak and Dapper, Retromended Vintage moved to Mills 50, and you could still get a German bologna sandwich at Backhaus German Bakery.
