The Mennello Museum of American Art (Website) will open its latest exhibition, Pool Party: The Pool in American Art, on Friday, June 6.

Running through September 28, the show explores the swimming pool as a symbol of American leisure, luxury, and cultural identity from the 1950s to today.

Curated by Executive Director Shannon Fitzgerald and Curator of Art and Education Katherine Page, the exhibition features works by renowned artists that all emerged in the mid-20th century, including Andy Warhol, Ed Ruscha, Alex Katz, Derrick Adams, Amy Bennett, and Isca Greenfield-Sanders.

An opening reception will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 6. Click HERE for more information on the party.

This video has nothing to do with this exhibition besides the name, but it’s still interesting.
