When The Heavy closed, I felt it. If you know, you know—that plant-filled dreamworld inside the old Lombardi’s Seafood warehouse was more than a shop. It was a vibe. A hang. A sanctuary.
So when I saw the “CrossFit gym coming soon” sign go up at 1152 Harmon Avenue in Winter Park, I groaned. Loudly.
Because honestly… does Orlando really need another CrossFit gym?
Turns out, the answer is yes—but only because this one isn’t what you think.
What owners Clarissa and Casey Detzel have created inside the old Heavy space is something entirely different. Yes, technically it’s home to a CrossFit gym. But it’s also a Vietnamese coffee bar. And a botanical lifestyle boutique. And somehow, all of it works together. Like, really works.
Black Phin (@blackphin_orl) is what first pulled me in. The coffee bar specializes in strong, authentic Vietnamese brews made with beans sourced from Vietnam—double the caffeine, so proceed with caution. Walk in, and the vibe is warm, modern, and beautifully curated, with plants spilling out of corners and regulars (yes, it’s only been open a few weeks and already has a faithful crew) working on laptops, taking Zoom calls, or catching up with friends.

Black Phin owners Linda and Saeng Khouvongsavanh have created something deeply intentional. I’d never had Vietnamese coffee before, and Saeng walked me through the process. It’s brewed with a phin filter—a slow metal drip that rests on your glass—and made with bold, earthy robusta beans that pack nearly twice the punch of your typical cup. Add sweetened condensed milk over ice and you’ve got a smooth, rich, rocket-fueled revelation. I loved my Cà Phê Sữa Đá—even if I won’t be sleeping tonight.
Just behind a curtain—literally—is All Inclusive CrossFit (@all_inclusive_crossfit). But forget what you picture when you hear “CrossFit.” This gym is clean, bright, and refreshingly un-intimidating. Whether you’re just getting started or sneaking in a quick session before grabbing a matcha, it’s the kind of place that meets you where you are. Members even get 20% off drinks at Black Phin, which feels very “treat yourself.”
Kiwi & Fern (@kiwi.and.fern) rounds out the trio with a lush plant and lifestyle boutique that feels like The Heavy’s spiritual successor. Expect curated home goods, design-forward greenery, and a calming energy that makes you say, “I want to live here.”
So yes, it’s technically a CrossFit gym. But it’s also a coffee shop. A boutique. A co-working space. A third place. A vibe. And that’s what surprised me most. I walked in expecting kettlebells, chalk dust, and testosterone-fueled grunting. I walked out with my new favorite iced coffee, a plant wishlist, and a genuine smile. Tbh, made me want to be a plant daddy.
My only fear? The building still just says “CrossFit,” and most of Orlando won’t realize what’s actually happening inside.
But now you know.
