If you hear a collective tail wag ripple through Ivanhoe Village this Saturday, it’s probably coming from House of Sploot — the neighborhood’s first-ever boutique pet shop, officially opening its doors June 14.

But this isn’t just a grand opening. It’s basically a honeymoon.

Owners Marielle Lesaguis and JD Yambao — a newlywed husband-and-wife duo who just celebrated their first anniversary — skipped the cruise and built a boutique instead. House of Sploot is their love letter to each other and to Orlando’s pet-loving community.

Tucked into 1231 N. Orange Avenue, it’s the latest addition to Swanson’s Ivanhoe Row, filling the former Maffrey’s space after the recent round of musical shops on the row. Inside, it’s all curated, healthy goodies for dogs and cats — with a stylish twist. Marielle and JD are especially excited to introduce Orlando to pet bandanas from Fren Goods, which are outrageously cute and obnoxiously Instagrammable.

More than just a retail space, Marielle says she wants House of Sploot to be a true gathering place — a hangout for pets and their people, with community events and creative surprises planned throughout the year. She mentioned a Paint Your Pet Night.

Saturday’s grand opening kicks off at 11 a.m. and promises treats (yes, for both species), photo ops, and gift bags for the early birds. Or cats. Or dogs.
