A long-awaited vision to make one of Orlando’s most beloved corridors safer and more accessible (that we first talked about in 2019) is back in the spotlight—but it needs public support to move forward.

The City of Orlando is hosting a public meeting today (Tuesday, June 17) to gather feedback on plans for the Corrine/Virginia/Forest corridor, a stretch that cuts through the heart of Audubon Park, home to local gems like East End Market, Redlight Redlight, Hellcats USA, Primrose Shop, Park Ave CD’s and Big Daddy’s.

Originally developed through a 2019 MetroPlan Orlando visioning process, the improvement plans include:

  • A protected cycle track
  • Additional sidewalks
  • Crossing signals
  • Other pedestrian and safety upgrades

Some temporary upgrades—like a crossing light at East End Market and a quick-build cycle track—have already been installed, but full implementation has stalled due to lack of funding.

Public Meeting Details:
Tuesday, June 17 | 4–7:30 p.m.
Audubon Park K–8 School Cafeteria
(1500 Falcon Dr, Orlando, FL 32803)

The Orlando Bike Coalition is urging the cycling community and corridor residents to show up and speak out. These improvements could protect kids walking or biking to school, make life safer for pedestrians and cyclists, and boost business by giving locals and tourists more reasons to explore the area on foot or two wheels.

If you care about the future of this district, your voice matters.
