Flow Haus Gets a Neighbor Who Actually Makes Talking About Money…Fun?

Earlier this week, we told you Flow Haus Yoga recently opened in a newly renovated building on Edgewater Drive—and we ended with a bit of a tease: We’ll be keeping an eye on what else is moving into the building…

Well, consider this your next clue in the mystery series.

Suites No. 5 & 6 are now officially spoken for: Edgewater Family Wealth Planning and Education Center is moving in and hopes to open it’s doors in early Fall.

The new space is an expansion of Edgewater Family Wealth, a College Park-based financial planning firm led by Scott Brown, who’s been in the business for over 30 years and has become a familiar voice thanks to his weekly appearances on The Jim Colbert Show on Real Radio 104.1.

But don’t expect mahogany desks and marble columns. Scott and his team have long believed that money talk should feel less intimidating and more… human. That philosophy is built into every detail of the new space, which will include community events, financial classes for all ages, and even food trucks and wine nights to make it all feel a little more inviting.

“Our goal is to create a space where both our clients and the community can gather to enhance their financial education and share fellowship,” says Brown. “We intend on holding classes for all age groups and economic standing—from parents bringing young children beginning their financial journey to retirees trying to maximize their golden years.”

In a time when many firms are moving away from personal relationships in favor of phone calls and packaged products, Scott says they’re doing the opposite:

“We believe our best interactions are face to face—either one-on-one or in group settings. This is the essence of the Planning and Education Center.”

Part of the space is also being outfitted as a podcast studio, where Scott plans to expand his weekly radio segments into something new—his own podcast.

As for the rest of the building? We still don’t know who’s moving into Suites 3, 4, 7, and 8. But we’re on it—and we’ll let you know as soon as we do.
