Chez Les Copains, the sleek second-floor brasserie inside Ivanhoe Village’s City Food Hall, has officially closed.

The modern French concept was a collaboration between celebrated Orlando chefs Michael Collantes (Soseki, Sushi Saint, Perla’s Pizza) and DJ Tangalin (Danilo’s Pasta Bar, Asin). It opened in January a few months before the rest of City Food Hall.

“We’re just thankful for the chance to bring this restaurant and concept to market,” Collantes told Orlando Weekly. “It’s unfortunate we had to close down, but we will be seeking a new space.” He confirmed there was no lease issue, but said he wouldn’t be opening another concept in the upstairs space.

Taglish, Collantes’s counter-service stall, remains open on the ground floor, and Tangalin’s Asin will serve across the lawn inside Arden.

City Food Hall has seen a few bumps since opening and now a prominent departure upstairs. Hopefully, City Food Hall won’t meet the same fate as Hall on the Yard, which ultimately couldn’t make the concept stick in the space.
