ART BARDS – Washington Park Branch

How can we express our feeling about our favorite color? How can we use words and images to create a visual picture of our favorite color?

This series is designed to create a connection between art and language. Students will explore a poem by Orlando’s Poet Laureate, Susan Lilley called “Sometimes Red” by creating a shape poem about their favorite color. Students will learn about the role and importance of Orlando’s first Poet Laureate.

Together we will read the poem introduce concepts related to art, inspiration and the world we live in
