Art Is Moving: Call To Artists!

February 15, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - February 24, 2017 @ 12:00 pm

(Deadline: Fri, Feb 24)

Art Is Moving is a project to showcase regional artists onboard a SunRail passenger coach with art rotating approximately every 6 months. This first exhibit’s theme: “We’re All Connected.”

First installation is scheduled for March 10, 2017, one week in advance of the popular Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival.

Art Is Moving is calling artists from the entire region to submit artwork, and would like to showcase artists from Orange, Seminole, Volusia and Osceola counties – home of SunRail’s phase one and phase two stations. This project is a great opportunity to promote local artists and provide a visually enticing train to travel on.

Artwork will be displayed on all of the train’s passenger-view exterior windows and two interior partitions on the mid-level. There are multiple sizes available below for submission and artists are encouraged to submit their artwork in multiple sizes, if desired. There is no limit on the amount of artwork each artist may submit for consideration.

An independent art jury will make selections from artwork submitted to Art is Moving. All artwork should be submitted with the theme in mind, and mindful of options for travelers at SunRail stations and the audience, children and adults, ages 0-100.

Art Submission Dates: Wednesday, Feb. 15 – Friday, Feb 24, Noon
Art Selections Finalized: Wednesday, March 1
First Day Train Rolls: Monday, March 13
Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival: Friday, March 17-19
