Central Florida Teach-In & Banned Books Reading
May 3 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm
FREE
Across the US folks are gathering for the Freedom to Learn National Day of Action coordinated by the African American Policy Forum.
We here in Central Florida are gathering at Audubon Park Church in Orlando (and on Zoom) for A Teach-in Conversation to demystify the AP (Advanced Placement) African American Studies Course. We will also be reading some banned/challenged books!
You won’t want to miss this conversation with Prof. Shan-Estelle Brown from Rollins College and Prof. Julian Chambliss from Michigan State University.
Pastor Sarah Robinson (+other possible surprise guest readers!) will also be reading from the collection of banned/challenged books in the newly formed “Right to Read: Audubon Park Community Library” housed at Audubon Park Church.
Join us in person or on Zoom for this event. Please share widely!
