‘CITY UNSEEN’ – A New [AR]t Experience
* NOVEMBER 2 (7-10 PM) : Opening night at Snap! Space.
Snap! Orlando’s ‘CITY UNSEEN’ is an ongoing public art project with in gallery experiences, exhibitions and installations across Orlando. This project opens artistic borders by launching the city into Augmented Reality [ AR ] experiences, with brilliant fusions of works by internationally renowned artists and cutting-edge AR technology. Experiences include murals coming to life, a projection mapping finding permanence into the virtual world, and a teleport bringing the viewer into a 360-degree visit of the artist’s Los Angeles studio. Artists include Miami multidisciplin artist Felice Grodin, Turkish digital artist Can Büyükberber, Los Angeles artist Nancy Baker Cahill, German street artist Mark Gmehling, Central Florida installation artists Mark Gerstein, Synthestruct, Matt Roberts and Terri Witek among others.
A ‘CITY UNSEEN’ App allows users to enjoy the full range of art installations and immersive AR experiences.
CITY UNSEEN will position Orlando as a pioneer with a new vision for the fusion of art and technology in the 21st century and serve as a platform for discussion about social, cultural, and environmental issues affecting those around us.
Produced and curated by Snap! Orlando, a leading Florida contemporary art organization with the mission to boldly increase the visibility and appreciation of the photographic arts and digital medium as significant cultural art forms.
