Defining Character Beyond The Voice
April 9, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
A three part class March 26, April 2, & April 9, 2018 | 7PM-9PM
How to define the characters in comedy and drama by more than the voice.
For Experienced Performers 18+
How to define the characters in comedy and drama by more than the voice. Physical acting that tells the story of the play through gesture, imagery and actions. How do we use props, furniture and weapons when we build a character? Filling the author’s words with a three dimensional character that you shape in rehearsals. Focusing on how actors can broaden their choices to help define their characters in both comedy and tragedy, we’ll use Shakespeare & Company acting and simple Stage Fighting techniques to help the actor structure their work. Individual and group work will be conducted.
