FilmSlam at Orlando Museum of Art
July 26, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
FIlmSlam turns 15! Join us at our new home at the Orlando Museum of Art!
For 15 years, FilmSlam has been Central Florida’s only consistent, public screening event for independent filmmakers. We have grown to become a popular local screening outlet as well as a collaborative and creative networking opportunity for independent and student filmmakers throughout the State of Florida!
FilmSlam has always been independently organized and run by local artists who donate their time and talents to ensure Florida’s novice, student, and professional filmmakers, especially those in Central Florida, have a dedicated public place to screen their works.
We are a safe space for filmmakers of all ages, disciplines, backgrounds, and abilities including filmmakers who happen to be female, minority artists, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Each screening begins at 2pm, runs for 60+ minutes, and is followed by a live Q&A which broadcasts live on our Facebook page!
Don’t be shy! Have a question about a film in the line-up? Ask one of the filmmakers! We’re sure they would appreciate your feedback! After every screening, filmmakers, cast, crew, and cinephiles will gather to talk about the films they just watched, current projects, and more!
FilmSlam began as a project of University of Central Florida’s Downtown Media Arts Center (DMAC) in Downtown Orlando at the historic Rogers Kiene Building. We grew at Enzian Theater, and continue to grow at our new venue, the Orlando Museum of Art!
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Be warned: October’s program which features an all horror, suspense, and sci-fi lineup of short films and is in NO WAY kid friendly.
