Florida Resistance Training

April 8, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 5:30 pm

Apply here!: https://goo.gl/forms/71FkkUCF5ZnNsTNE2

Across the nation we have seen a rise in the activism and enthusiasm of people who wish to resist the Republican administration and their agenda. For Our Future will be sponsoring an in-depth two day training on all aspects of what we will need to know to prepare to fight what we have in front of us. The goal of this will be to allow all participants to walk out with the knowledge and direct actions they will need to take in order to build power in an intersectional movement that directly effects laws and elections. Some of the topics that will be covered are:

Electoral Campaigns
Effective Lobbying of Elected Officials
Issue Education
Civil Disobedience
Event Logistics
Media Training
Social Media
The Importance of Intersectionality
How to Run for Office.
and much more.

This training will be led by a coalition of leaders from local and state organizations such as: local labor unions, Planned Parenthood, Organize Florida, Florida Student Power Network, Council on American Islamic Relations, as well as many special guest speakers.

Our goal is to accomodate everyone across the state who wishes to attend. This is why we are asking everyone who is interested in attending to fill out an application to let us know important information such as how large a venue we will need, how much housing we will need to provide for those traveling to attend, how much food will be needed, how many will only be able to attend one day, and most importantly how best to set up the agenda and various sections to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to attend and learn.
