Heritage Day 2016 at the Polasek

It’s an exciting festivity! We’re honoring artist Albin Polasek’s Czech heritage and celebrating the diverse cultural heritage of our Central Florida neighbors. Come be a part of this special event discover Albin Polasek’s roots and the history and culture of his homeland, share your family’s heritage, learn about other cultures. Our celebration is FREE to all guests.

All day long you can tour Albin Polasek’s Historic Home and Studio, walk through our amazing gardens, visit the gallery exhibit, see the Capen Showalter home, and create a vintage silhouette cutout at the art table.

Special events include:
– A lecture on preserving your small heirlooms by Winter Park Archivist, Rachel Simmons
– A special performance and demonstration by the Orlando International Folk Dance Club Explore A special children’s performance by Winter Park’s Penelope Princess of the Peacocks
– An “Adopt an Ancestor” photo embellishing workshop with Curator Rachel Frisby
– A book signing with artist Pierre Henri Matisse
– Kona Ice Truck’s “Cans for Kona” partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida to help raise food for our community; bring two canned or boxed goods and Kona will upgrade your purchase of a Kona Ice product.

There will be limited onsite parking for $5 per car.
