Liner Notes Live: Bobby Callender’s The Way

May 19 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Join Kyle Eagle (The Major Scale) and Matt Gorney (Jazz in the Bible Belt) for a beverage as they talk Bobby Callender’s 1971 album The Way!

Join Kyle Eagle (The Major Scale) and Matt Gorney (Jazz in the Bible Belt, the Civic Minded 5) as they discuss Bobby Callender’s 1971 album The Way (First Book of Experiences), a prog/pscyhedlic/singer-songwriter/transcendental concept album of the first order. In addition to sampling the music, they’ll be interviewing (drumroll…) Bobby Callender himself!

Drones, meditations, prayers, narration, some sick grooves and catchy hooks, all backed up by the legendary ECM artists Oregon – if that sounds like the making of a good and trippy record, you’ve got about 1% of the story. Get the whole story, or something like it, before the 50th anniversary performance of The Way at Timucua this summer.

Put your first beverage on the Timucua tab!
