Local Love Night: Greyhounds in Motion

On Thursday, August 22, Local Love Orlando will be hosting a fundraiser for Greyhounds In Motion at The Abbey, in Downtown Orlando.
Dog lovers will want to be here as we will have some real live greyhounds mixing and mingling with our downtown movers and shakers.
Greyhounds In Motion is a Central Florida non-profit, whose mission is to expedite the transition of greyhounds from retired racer to family pet, by facilitating awareness and physical transportation.
With the recent passage of Amendment 13, almost 70% of Florida voters confirmed that they wanted an end to Greyhound racing. As a consequence, thousands of greyhounds will become available for adoption by the end of 2020, when the ban officially goes into effect.
The demand for greyhounds nationwide is strong, but the problem is often transportation. GIM depends on volunteers to drive the dogs to their forever homes, which can be hundreds or thousands of miles. In order to offset the fuel and hotels, GIM needs funds.
That’s where Local Love Orlando comes in.
