Milk District Clean-Up
August 1, 2020 @ 8:30 am - 11:30 amFREE
If you are looking for a relaxing activity to make a positive impact on your community while practicing the CDC’s recommendation of social distancing, consider cleaning up litter and graffiti in The Milk District.
You’ll start the day at Juice Bar, where you’ll get graffiti and garbage cleanup supplies and instructions and be assigned an area of the neighborhood to clean. Come back with photos of your bag of garbage and removed graffiti, and you’ll get a free juice!
Want to commit to helping keep the neighborhood clean long-term? Check out KOB’s Adpot-a-spot program. https://www.orlando.gov/Our-Government/Departments-Offices/Public-Works/Streets-and-Stormwater-Division/Keep-Orlando-Beautiful/Adopt-A-Spot
All litter, big and small, is not only unsightly, it has serious environmental consequences, that can be easily prevented.
1. Decreases community aesthetic, reducing property values.
2. Causes soil, water and air pollution.
3. Creates breeding grounds for mosquitoes. It only takes 1 plastic bottle cap full of water for mosquitoes to reproduce.
4. Causes fire hazards.
5. Harms wildlife.
Supplies are limited. Please sign up in advance to secure your spot.
