Observational drawing of plants workshop
June 28 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
In this workshop you learn how to observe a plant and create a simple, block colour painting in response.
For this workshop you will need:
- a plant to observe from
- thick water based paint such as gouache or acrylic in a variety of colours. Note: having your colours already mixed will be helpful. Freya is using five different shades of green but it will depend on the plant you choose as to which colours you will need!
- thick paper or card
- paintbrushes in a variety of sizes
- a pencil
- a jar of water and a cloth for wiping your brushes
Freya Legon is a final year Fine Art student. Her work explores how spending time alongside plant based imagery and within green spaces can be beneficial on our well-being. Freya believes that mental health is incredibly important and so taking some time to reflect and observe plants in a creative setting can have some great benefits for our mind.
This workshop will be live-streamed on the LU Arts Facebook Page.
